School Social Worker

A boys' upper school is seeking a compassionate and experienced School Social Worker / Mental Health Clinician to join its multidisciplinary team. This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting adolescents with high-functioning autism and learning disabilities through individualized, strengths-based interventions that foster emotional well-being, confidence, independence, and lifelong success.

The ideal candidate is passionate about working with adolescents, values collaboration, and is committed to helping students develop the social, emotional, and executive functioning skills needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

• Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and autism-informed interventions.
• Support students' social-emotional development, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skills.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to promote student success.
• Coordinate services and maintain effective communication with families and outside providers.
• Provide behavioral consultation and classroom support to assist students throughout the school day.
• Develop individualized strategies that address students' emotional, behavioral, and educational needs.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment that promotes student growth and resilience.

• Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• New York State licensure or eligibility for licensure is preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents is required.
• Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders and/or learning disabilities is strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Collaborative, compassionate, and student-centered approach to care.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
