Position Overview

A growing beauty company is seeking an experienced Packaging Designer with a strong background in skincare, cosmetics, personal care, or related beauty products.

This is a hands-on role for a designer who can take products from initial concept through final production in a fast-paced environment. The Packaging Designer will be responsible for developing compelling packaging concepts, creating production-ready artwork, collaborating with vendors and overseas manufacturers, and ensuring each project successfully balances visual impact, functionality, production requirements, and cost.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded, highly organized, and capable of taking ownership of multiple projects with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities Packaging Design & Creative Development
  • Design packaging for skincare, body care, cosmetics, personal care, and other beauty products.
  • Develop product concepts, positioning, naming, copy, and overall visual direction based on business and product needs.
  • Translate creative concepts into commercially viable, retail-ready packaging.
  • Create layouts and artwork using provided dielines.
  • Incorporate product copy, ingredients, claims, specifications, and other required information into packaging designs.
  • Maintain consistency across product lines while adapting designs to individual product and market needs.
  • Balance strong visual design with product functionality, production feasibility, and cost considerations.
Production & Product Development
  • Prepare accurate, production-ready artwork and final files.
  • Review dielines, specifications, materials, print requirements, and production details.
  • Manage projects from initial concept through sampling, revisions, approvals, and final production.
  • Review samples and proofs and communicate necessary revisions.
  • Troubleshoot packaging and production issues as they arise.
  • Ensure final packaging accurately reflects approved designs and specifications.
Vendor & Manufacturer Communication
  • Work directly with vendors and overseas manufacturers throughout the development and production process.
  • Communicate packaging specifications, artwork requirements, revisions, and approvals.
  • Coordinate samples and address production questions or issues.
  • Maintain clear communication to keep projects moving according to schedule.
  • Identify opportunities to improve packaging quality, efficiency, cost, and development processes.
Project Management & Collaboration
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to move projects efficiently from concept through production.
  • Manage multiple packaging projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Take ownership of projects and proactively identify next steps.
  • Maintain organized artwork, specifications, revisions, and project files.
  • Help improve internal design and product-development processes.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of professional beauty packaging design experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating packaging work within skincare, cosmetics, beauty, or personal care.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Hands-on experience preparing final artwork for packaging production.
  • Strong understanding of dielines, packaging materials, formats, printing methods, and production processes.
  • Experience taking packaging projects from concept through finished production.
  • Experience communicating directly with vendors and manufacturers.
  • Strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable making decisions and moving projects forward with minimal direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with AI-powered design tools and incorporating AI into the creative workflow is a strong plus.
  • Korean/English bilingual abilities and experience working with Korean manufacturers are a strong plus.
