Position Overview
A school in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Special Education Teacher to join its team for the 2026–2027 school year. Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized lesson plans that align with students' IEP goals and curriculum standards.

Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of academic and behavioral performance.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student achievement.
Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Implement appropriate classroom management strategies and positive behavioral supports.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Utilize assessments and data to guide instructional planning and student interventions.
Maintain compliance with all special education regulations and school policies.
Qualifications
New York State Certification in Special Education is required.
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience teaching middle school students is preferred.
Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
