Seeking a CFO to join the team.
Primary Responsibilities
• Lead all financial functions of the firm, formulate financial goals for the firm and formulate action plans to achieve those objectives.
• Key business advisor to the firm’s senior/managing attorneys.
• Oversee, maintain, and nurture relationships with financial institutions, auditors, vendors, and strategic partners of the firm.
• Create internal financial controls and refine existing fiscal protocols to increase profitability.
• Oversee cash management, budgeting, billing, collections, vendor payments, payroll, internal and external audits, and retirement plan.
• Lead and manage a professional staff of approximately 10 individuals, including senior billing manager, director of finance, and controller.
• Hiring new personnel as needed.
• Analyze firm expenses and create comprehensive strategies to reduce non-essential spending.
• Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, including productivity, income statements, and cash balances reports; evaluate effectiveness of the report package and recommend changes as needed.
• Monitors trends and conduct benchmarking within the legal industry; provide input, recommendations, and insights to key stakeholders.
• At least ten years of experience required; background in professional services or legal preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including an understanding of GAAP and cash basis accounting, tax requirements of governmental agencies, and general auditing procedures.
• Familiarity with TABS billing software preferred.
• Ability to work well, individually and in teams, with a diverse group of people.
• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA a plus.
Compensation: The expected base salary for this role is dependent on experience and qualifications, as well as other job-related factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills, education, certifications, or other professional licenses held.
